May is typically hot and dry in Tucson. We had some clear triple digit days this week, but then the air cooled, and it's been raining on and off. Like most sky watchers, I find it fascinating to observe clouds as they come and go. The desert smells so good when it rains and all the plants look happy. For sure, a little unexpected moisture is welcome here.

All are excellent, but I think the 3rd one is my favourite. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

I love these, but especially the sun rays. Very changeable weather at the moment then?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you got some great skies too, I thought you might. I love the way the shape of the tree is reflected in the clouds in the first one.
ReplyDeleteThe third photo is out of this world! Just remarkable! All other photos are great also!
ReplyDeleteAwesome clouds. Is monsoon season early?
ReplyDeleteYes, you do get to photograph some amazing skies when the weather in Arizona turns to clouds and rain. Great job!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're getting some moisture. The rays of sun peeking from the dark sky are awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh I miss Tucson!
ReplyDeleteLove all of those photos, Diane.. The fourth one is a WINNER.... Frame it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Seems weird but make for a wonderful photo and for SWF post. Great shots too!
ReplyDeleteAll interesting and wonderful images. I like how the clouds are like a halo to the bush in the first image.
ReplyDeleteJust arrived back in AZ this past weekend. Can't ever remember having a wet May like this. Your photos are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAwesome wonders of your sky over there.
ReplyDeleteCool collection of photos for sky watch friday, not many of us get to see cactus like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your views with us all and thanks for your kind comments on my blog earlier.
There's something about desert landscapes that really gets me. I can just imagine the sights and smells in the desert after the rain.
ReplyDeleteWe got rain last night :) I heard on the news that Tucson got "hit" pretty hard with this streak of weather. Everything ok at your house?
ReplyDeletewow, love the vastness and the rays of sun against the clouds in the 4th picture, again, you have another outstanding set of sky pictures. and your saguaro always will be loved.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I love that second to last photo!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous, not just today but on other sky watch days as well!
ReplyDeleteAustin is getting hot too. With I could head home to Canada for the next 5 months!
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is so neat, it looks like that bowl of clouds is perfectly framing the tree.
Beauiful spot you live in!
My favorite is the fourth photograph. Wowza!

Love those pics!
ReplyDeleteYou captured the sky so well- your pictures are awesome, just like this weather. I am hoping for early and VERY WET monsoons this year!
ReplyDeleteThe sunset breaking through the clouds is stunning. That first shot is very cool. I like how the clouds seem to create a halo around the tree.
ReplyDeletewhat can i say?fabadabadoo. wish i lived near these majestic plants like you do...i am jellyass.
ReplyDeleteThese are works of ART. They are so dramatic. With the sky and the cactus piece the sky and that first one the way the clouds seem to copy the tree. Also the colors and constrasts in that second one are delicious. I just love them.
