I don't come down to Tucson enough! They had a mountain lion warning out the last time I was there (two years ago). Beautiful pictures!

Oh, you're ahead of us! The only things starting to pop open by me are teensy weeny tiny white ground cover flowers and the popcorn flowers. (Our locals call them "fiddlenecks." I've not heard the real name, before your post.) I did see a Mexican poppy bud the other day...

Diane, no matter how much I try, my photos aren't a fraction as beautiful as yours! You've such a talent!

Your desert is in bloom, we are just beginning to see the first flowers. I'm impressed at your knowledge, yesterday Jules and I were out and the best we could do is say pretty blue purple flower.

I left my field guide at the cabin.

Oh fabulous photos and you found way more blooms than I did on Sunday. And I love that you can name them all!! I can't wait to go back and just sketch flowers.

Diane, these are amazing. Spring has sprung in the desert. It's great to have a name to each one. I'm with Martha on this one................:)

Oh Diane, it is undeniably spring. All wonderful captures of desert favorites. I saw less than that the other day.

Beautiful Diane. Since I've never been out west much (only a couple of times) ---I don't think I would know what any of these beautiful flowers are. I love all of them. The colors are marvelous. I especially like especially the Fairy Duster. Perfect name!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

What a beautiful collection of flowers. Fun to get to know them by name. I'm looking forward to a quiet day in the woods to see what's peeping up around here.

Isn't spring grand?! Everything is just popping out like crazy. I think I have a pretty soft spot in my heart for Fairy Dusters too.
