Clouds at Sunrise

A few mornings ago, the sky was cloudy as I walked in Sabino Canyon.

Clouds were a welcome change from the clear skies usually seen in this area.

It almost looked as if it could rain.

The creek hasn't flowed since July.

Even the tiny pools of stagnant water have dried up.

No rain, the clouds were just teasing. After all, this is the desert.

  1. Nice skies even if you didn't get rain. It seems you didn't get much of a monsoon this year either.
    I like the silvery look to the plants in the second photo. All great shots, though.

  2. ahhh! the sunrise...there's nothing more refreshing than waking up to a lovely morn...though it is cloudy, i think it is dramatic and beautiful nonetheless.

  5. I would have definitely thought rain from the look of those clouds, but then I don't know the desert. At least they provide some stunning photos.

  7. The cactus plants seems to be looking towards the sky for rain. The sky looks nice to see with different tones of blue.

  10. same here in San Diego Diane, we just had our rain today after 165 days of no rain :(
