I love the quail. I think his coloring is a little different than our California quail. You must have been out early to catch him fluffed up and catchig the sun.
That Quail shot is great. Every now and then a local roadrunner stops in for a sip, then fluffs out all his feathers and soaks up the sun. The first time i saw him do it, I had to do a double take, because I had no idea what it was. He looked pretty funny. I'll have to dog back and see if I can find one of those pics. I'll have to take another day hike up in Sabino soon. I'm a bit of a pussy when it comes to Cougars though.
I've never seen a quail all "fluffed out" like that. Cool picture!
