Skywatch - Welcoming Weird Weather

May is typically hot and dry in Tucson. We had some clear triple digit days this week, but then the air cooled, and it's been raining on and off. Like most sky watchers, I find it fascinating to observe clouds as they come and go. The desert smells so good when it rains and all the plants look happy. For sure, a little unexpected moisture is welcome here.

To see what's been happening in the sky in other places, visit Skywatch Friday.

I love these, but especially the sun rays. Very changeable weather at the moment then?

It looks like you got some great skies too, I thought you might. I love the way the shape of the tree is reflected in the clouds in the first one.

Yes, you do get to photograph some amazing skies when the weather in Arizona turns to clouds and rain. Great job!

All interesting and wonderful images. I like how the clouds are like a halo to the bush in the first image.

Cool collection of photos for sky watch friday, not many of us get to see cactus like that.

Thanks for sharing your views with us all and thanks for your kind comments on my blog earlier.

There's something about desert landscapes that really gets me. I can just imagine the sights and smells in the desert after the rain.

We got rain last night :) I heard on the news that Tucson got "hit" pretty hard with this streak of weather. Everything ok at your house?

Austin is getting hot too. With I could head home to Canada for the next 5 months!

That first picture is so neat, it looks like that bowl of clouds is perfectly framing the tree.

Beauiful spot you live in!

The sunset breaking through the clouds is stunning. That first shot is very cool. I like how the clouds seem to create a halo around the tree.

These are works of ART. They are so dramatic. With the sky and the cactus piece the sky and that first one the way the clouds seem to copy the tree. Also the colors and constrasts in that second one are delicious. I just love them.
